Levin H. (Mathias?) Hitch
On September 1, 1868, Levin H. Hitch and Elijah A.J. Powell paid $6,000 for land to James Powell. It was described as the same land that James Powell bought from Mollie Miles on November 20, 826 (rec. Liber GH No. 3, Folio 393,394), 183 acres called "Chance" and "Addition to Chance". Also land Henry W. Long and wife sold to Powell on March 4, 1843 (rec. Liber AH, Folio 471,472) 52 7/8 acres called "Vasterage" and "The Fifty Acre Priviledge". Also land Powell bought from John R. Franklin on May 29, 1854 (rec. Liber LW NO. 3, Folio 87,88) 172 acres called "Dormans Conclusion". Also land Powell bought from Teagle Townsend and wife on January 25, 1855 (rec. Liber LW NO. 3, Folio 393, 394) 52 acres, and finally land Powell bought from William W. Powell on March 3, 1855 (rec. LW NO. 3, Folio 442) called "Addition Cut Close". (Somerset Co.
