From "A Hitch Orchard", Daisy Hitch Davies, 1931: R.T. .Hitch is engaged in farming and it was my pleasure during the summer of 1930 to visit two days at his farm. "Wynwood Farm" is situated directly on the north bank of the Wicomico River and is about 3 miles from Salisbury, MD. It is very near, possibly part of the tract of land once owned by Adam Hitch. He and his wife proved themselves most hospitable and they have every reason to be proud of their four splendid sons and one daughter. Members of this family are mostly Methodists and Republicans. They hold strict and moral views. It was R.T. Hitch who sent me much data relative to his own line. Among other items was a deed date Oct. 7, 1811 which was probably that of his great-grandfather. The deed was greatly discolored with age and broken where it had been folded.
