Listed as a shoemaker in the 1850 and 1860 Federal Census. In 1860, it states he is from Delaware. Also, the 1880 Census states that Louisa Turner Jones' father was born in DE.

On Jun 10 1865, Eleanor M. Drura, Benjamin F. Mezick and Mary J. his wife, and Phillip N. Mezick sold the one acre lot of land to William Turner for $40 "at the trappe" on the east side of the county road leading over the mill and on which William Turner now resides. It begins at a stone bounder at the corner of the lot across from where Wlliam W. Disharoon now resides - it also borders Eleanor Drura's lot and Disharoon's mill pond. (SoLR-LW8:685). On the 1877 maps of the area, it shows "Mrs. Turner" on the Princess Anne District map at the far north, just SE of Upper Trappe, likely the lot this is referring to.
