John L. Hitch, Age 88, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Rehoboth Beach, DE, died on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. John was the son of the late Harry and Georgia Hitch. He worked for the duPont Company for 29 years, retiring in 1978. He was an Air Force veteran, serving in Europe during W.W.II and he was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. In addition to his parents, he is pre-deceased by his wife, Dorothy. He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth A. Ferrario and her husband Peter, of Wilmington, DE, two grandsons; Joseph P. Ferrario and wife Staci, of Oxford, PA., Andrew M. Ferrario and wife Stephanie, of Newark, DE., four great-grandchildren; Jacob, Nicholas, Gianna and Cecilia. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM at CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.
