In "A Hitch Orchard" (1931), compiler Daisy Hitch Davies writes: When Abby Hitch was married she received two slaves from Maryland as a wedding gift. She cared for the home after the death of her brother George Hitch. She has a granddaughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Gifferd who lives part of the time in Toronto, Can. This granddaughter is married three times. Abigail married Timothy Perry, son of John Perry Jr. and Janne (?), on 21 Aug 1806 in New Bedford, Bristol Co., MA. (Timothy Perry was born on 29 Dec 1782 and died on 06 Apr 1817 at Sea..) Abigail next married David Long, son of Richard Long and Elizabeth Forster, on 11 Jun 1818 in New Bedford, Bristol Co., MA.
