John* Hastings

Questionable parent to Robert Hastings (c1695-after 1757) - There was a John Hastings as a headright to Randall Revell when he had the tract DOUBLE PURCHASE surveyed for him in 1679. That would place him born, perhaps, 1630-1660. He may be the father of Robert or, maybe Robert came directly from England himself in the early 1700s.

There is also a Daniel Hast/Haste who may be a relative of the said Robert Hastings born in 1695. Daniel is a generation older but not a candidate as father given he leaves his large estate to two daughters. This compiler has found zero proof that Hast/Haste is the same family as Hasty/Hasting/Hastings.
