L. Ben Brittingham, Sr., 82, of Parsonsburg, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at his residence. Born in Parsonsburg, he was the son of the late Lloyd Burton Brittingham and Elsie Lewis Brittingham.
Ben or Benny as he was known, was a 1957 graduate of Wicomico High School and was a lifelong farmer and poultry producer, and a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. He was also a charter member of the Powellville Volunteer Fire Company and served in various positions in the community pertaining to farming. He was a collector of farming and poultry memorabilia. He loved his Lord and Savior and was a good witness to his family and friends. No one loved his Lord, his wife, or his family more.
Ben is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Alice Hammond Brittingham; two daughters, Paige B Workman (Jeff) of Delmar and Susan B Marshall (Tom) of Pittsville; a son, L B Brittingham, Jr. (Joanie) of Parsonsburg; five grandchildren, Melissa Twilley (Brandt), Ashley Chance (Stephen), Ryan Marshall (Rachel), Emily Thornes (Ryan), and Olivia Pruitt (Joel); nine great grandchildren, Donovan, Quinn, Connor, Ryatt, Eris, Thomas, Caleb, Roland, Nellie (and one on the way). In addition to his parents, Ben was also preceded in death by three siblings; Mary Morris, Emogene Phillips, and Pete Brittingham.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at 2:00 pm at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation beginning at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Community Cemetery in Willards. Officiating will be Rev. Brian Moss and Rev. Oren Perdue
