In 1687, Capt. John Osbourne sold 100a of the tract CONVENIENCE to Adam Spence. On Jul 1 1724, Spence , listed as a merchant et ux. Margaret Spence sold this same land to Robert Scott, cordwinder (SoLR-GH:177). In modern day (2024), this tract is SW of Snow Hill, MD near where the Merry Sherwood house stands).

On Nov 5 1687, Adam Spence had the 200a land tract LONDONDERRY surveyed for him in Somerset Co., MD (modern-day Worcester). He was granted a patent to the tract on Jun 10 1695. The tract today (2024) is about 2 miles ENE of the town of Snow Hill, MD. On Dec 15 1721, Adam Spence et ux. Margaret Spence sold this tract to James Stevenson et ux. Sarah Stevenson, for £40 (SoLR-IKL:184).

On Mar 13 1700 (NS) Francis Jenkins et ux. Mary Jenkins sold land in tract MIDDLESEX to Adam Spence (WoLR-L1:540). Land is included in the NE half of the old Snow Hill section of town in the modern day.

On Oct 20 1708, Adam Spence had the 200a land tract SPENCES LOT surveyed for him in Somerset Co., MD (modern-day Worcester). He was granted a patent to the tract on Dec 16 1714. The tract today (2024) is about 2 miles S of the Verrazone Bridge on Assateague Island. On Jul 25 1714, Adam Spence et ux. Margaret Spence sold two 100a portions of the tract (its entirety) to William Collins and John Evans, respectively (SoLR-EF:128 and 176).

On Dec 23 1712 and Feb 23 1713 (NS), John Hampton et ux. Mary Hampton sold land in tracts FAIR MEADOW, SOUTH BENFLITT to Adam Spence, planter, for 32,000 lbs of tobacco. Then on Oct 26 1713, Spence and wife Margaret sold this same land back to John Hampton, clerk and ux. Mary Hampton, for 40,000 lbs of tobacco. (SoLR-CD:856 and 859) - This land is just north of the mouth of the St. Martins River in modern day.

On Apr 11 1720 Col. William Whittington, Esq. of Coventry Parish's will was proven and left the tract MIDDLEMORE to Adam Spence ("he to make payment"). (MdW-16:105) Adam Spence was shown in the 1734 Rent Rolls to possess the tract which he left to his son Adam in 1735.

On Apr 3 1732, Mary, Margaret and Thomas Brown sold Lot 5 in Snow Hill to Adam Spence (SoLR-AZ:022). Less than a year later, the elder Adam Spence wrote his will on Feb 13 1733 and it was proven Jan 14 1735 whereby (among other things), this lot was left to his son Adam Spence (MdW-21:266).

Adam Spence wrote his will on Feb 13 1733 and it was proven in Somerset on Jan 14 1735 with:
- To son Adam Spence, 150a MIDDLESEX, also 190a MIDDLEMORE, Lot 5 in Snow Hill Town, also all remaining real and personal estate not otherwise mentioned here and he to be my executor
- To son-in-law, James Stevenson, thirty pounds
- To sons-in-law, William Hall and Robert Hall, thirty pounds each
- To Rev. MgHugh Steveson, one pistole
