24 Oct 1635; Virginia: He came on the ship Constance, aged 25. There were two other immigrants to Virginia in 1635 named William Johnes, one 17 and the other aged 21. The indentification of the William Jones who was aged 25 in 1635 as the father of Joyce Jones is based on his deposition in July 1658 stating his age as about 50 years.
He was shown as William Joanes of Hungars Parish. My loving wife Anne Joanes extrx. To wife all my lands for life and then to my surviving grandchildren as she thinks fit. To my grandchildren now belonging to Michael Ricketts. To my two grandchildren belonging to Anthony Hodgkins dec'd. To my grandchildren belonging to Symon Carpenter of Maryland, merchant. Wife resid. legatee. To William Carpenter son of Symon, one 2 year old mare. Witt: Isaac Foxcraft, Ann Wilcokes. NOTE: William Jones recorded cattle marks for his daughters Ann and Elizabeth Jones, and a deed of gift to his daughter Joyce Jones.
