Robert Houston

According to the Miles Files, he came to Virginia in or before 1652 settling first in Northampton Co, VA. He moved to the Pocomoke River about 1666 and about this time married Grace. He died in Pokomoke Hundred, MD. His widow married again. One deposition would seem to indicate that he had some medical traning.
On Sep 16 1665, Robert Houstone was granted 500 acres in Somerset for transporting Robert Crumpton, John Ventris, James Eveling, John Cow, Rich. How, Henry Banition/Bainton, Tho. Wanklin, William Grubb, Thomas Kent and Mary Pithouse. This land is in present day Worcester Co, MD right on the MD/ VA line.
He wrote his will on Apr 25 1693 as:
To wife Grace plantation.
To eldest son John "Scott's Lott" & "Houston's Choice."
To son Robert plantation "Houston's Choice."
To son James (under 16) land "Houston's Choice."
To son Thomas (under 16) "Second Choice."
To son Joseph (under 16), Benjamin (under 16).
To daughters Grace Benson & Comfort (under 16).
To wife Grace Extr.
