Death of Thomas Humphreys.
[Special Dispatch to the Baltimore Sun.]

SALISBURY, MD., April 14.--Ex-Mayor Thomas Humphreys, of Salisbury, died a this home, "Mill Grove," late last night, after several weeks' illness from stomach trouble, in the fifty-eighth year of his age.

He was born in Salisbury. He graduated from Princeton College in 1859, and subsequently entered the Harvard Law School.

He was admitted to the bar in Baltimore in 1862. He took an active part in creating Wicomico county out of Somerset and Worcester counties, though he was not a member of the constitutional convention of 1867. In 1875 he was elected State Senator of Wicomico, and afterward was mayor of Salisbury for two terms. He was twice married, and leaves a widow and two sons.
