This means he was born on the 17th anniversay of Jan 12 1801 or, Jan 12 1784. He was, at the time, apprenticed by his father, Avery Bradford, to Henry White, a blacksmith. (WoOCP-JBR3:289)
He is listed as William Bradfore or Avery in the Orphan's Court of Oct 9 1832 when he took on guardianship of William Timmons, born Jan 19 1822. Trade to be taught was farming. (WoOCP-LPS7:550)
He may have had two wives as there is a long time between children as shown in the 1850 census. He died in early 1860 as seen by his estate being administered beginning Feb 28 1860.
