John Bradford MdW-29:018WoW-JW2:113 03 Sep 174205 Oct 1753 To wife Margaret Bradford: movable estate To son William Bradford: part of land called SAINT MARTINS DESERT lying on the north side of Joseph Jones Road To son Nathaniel - part of land called SAINT MARTINS DESERT lying on the south side of Joseph Jones Road To son John - 100 ac being part of dwelling plantation called JOHNS LOT To my eight daughters - movable estate at wife's death Witnesses: Robert Rathbone, George Jarman 05 Oct 1753 Then came William Bradford to swear to this will; the witnesses having "departed this life before the testator" "Joseph Jones being of full age and being sworn ... saith that upwards of twelve years past he this deponent had an order to clear a road from Pocomoke River to BUCKINGHAM and some time after readying the said road this deponent saw a white oak marked with the three notches ... and some time afterwards this deponent was riding this same road with John Bradford and asked him what that tree was marked for the said John Bradford answered that from that tree up the road toward Buckingham was the division between his sons Nathaniel Bradford and William Bradford" "Rebecca Smith of full age sworn ... and saith that about nine or ten years ago she ... was at her father John Bradford's and the said John went abroad and when he came home Robert Rathbone came with him as she understood to write his the said John's will and the said Robert set down to write and that the said John desired her this deponent to go for George Jarman to be witness to the said will" "John Holloway, Jr. being of full age ... saith that about ten years agoe he this deponent went to John Bradford's and Robert Rathbone was writing the said John's will and he this deponent stayd till the will was finished ... and also that he was desired by John Bradford to sign the said will as an evidence with George Jarman and Robert Rathbone but William Bradford was present said that he this deponent was too near of kin to be a witness"
