Obituary, The Daily Times (Salisbury, Maryland) December 26, 1971: Mrs. Elizabeth Dallas Hitch, 60, of 518 W. College Ave., died Saturday in Peninsula General Hospital after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late David H. and Jane S. Ardis Dallas of Salisbury. Her husband, Filbert M. Hitch, died in 1962. Survivors include two brothers, Judge Robert W. Dallas and George M. Dallas, both of Salisbury, two nieces and a nephew. Mrs. Hitch was a teacher at East Salisbury School, a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, the Salisbury Cotillion, the Junior Board at Peninsula General Hospital and the Teachers' Assn. of Maryland. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Hill - Baker - Bounds Funeral Home, the Rev. Harry Johnson, Rector at St. Peter's officiating. Interment will be in Parsons Cemetery. Elisabeth married Filbert Martin Hitch, son of Dr. Gaylord Adams Hitch D.D.S. and Helen Bosler Filbert, on 28 Feb 1935. (Filbert Martin Hitch was born on 08 Jan 1910 in Laurel, Sussex Co., DE, died on 07 Apr 1962 in Salisbury, Wicomico Co., MD and was buried on 10 Apr 1962 in Parsons Cemetery, Salisbury, Wicomico Co., MD.) |
