John Kibble his marke vizt A Popler Leafe of the left ear and one hole in the Same ear recorded the 7th March A° D° 1672 (Somerset Livestock marks)
On Aug 12 1672 Alexander Murray, planter of Pungoteague, Virginia, et ux. Sarah Murray sold land in the tract "Newtown" to John Kibble, carpenter (SoLR-SC:298). This tract is across and on the Pocomoke River from the modern city of Pocomoke, slightly to its west.
In Feb 1673, he made a statment against John Harrison in court: John Kibble being Called appeares and Deliveres this ffollowing Peticon which is read, vizt ; ~ To the worpll: Commrs: of Sommersett County The humble Peticon of John Kibble Humbly sheweth That whereas yor: Peticr: had ffoure hogsheads of tobacco laying at the Tobacco house of John Harrison being recd: of John Harrison, yor: Peticr: Did Send Charles Perry and Thomas Wheeler on the third day of ffebruary in the XXXXith: yeare of the Dominion of the Rt: honble: Caecilius &c Annoq Domini 1672 unto the house of John Harrison to fetch the said ffoure hhds: of tobacco for yor: Peticr: The said John Harrison on the 4th: day of the said month of ffebruary Delivered the said ffoure hhds: of tobacco to the said Charles and Thomas who brought the said Tobacco to yor: petitrs: Sloope then riding against Ambrose Dixons Plantacon; John Avery master of the Sloope spyeing one of the hhds: wett Caused the said Charles and Thomas to Carry the same on Shore to the Landing of Stephen Horssi to have it uncased where it was opened in the presence of severall persons and in the bulge of the hhd: was packed about A third part of tobacco Stalkes, peggs and Trash tobacco yor: Peticr: by Complaintes made to mr: George Johnson one of his Lopps: Justices for this County had his warrant to bring the said John Harrison before him or Some other of his Lopps: Justices for this County; And upon Sight of the warrant the said John Harrison went before mr: Johnson along with yor: Peticr: And the said mr: Johnson upon yor: Petrs: Complainte bound over the said John Harrison to answer yor: Petrs: Complainte and tooke bond of the sd: John Harrison for three Thousand pounds of Tobacco pble to the Rt: honble: the Lord Proprietary to answer the Complainte of yor: Petr: and to abide Judgement therein yor: Petr: Craveth Justice in the behalfe of the Rt: honble: the Lord Proprietary; as alsoe Damadges for dead freight & Losse of the said hhd: of tobacco weighing nett ffoure hundred sixty two pounds being Dampnified Two Thousand pounds of tobacco and as in Duty bound Shall Pray John Kibble Delivers to the Cort: these ffollowing Deposi tions of Charles Perry and Thomas Wheeler which are read; vizt ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
