"A Hitch Orchard" by Daisy Hitch Davies, 1931 states that a daughter of Benjamin Hitch married a Mr. Brown and went south to live. Rachel may be the daughter in question.

(?) married Rachel Hitch, daughter of Benjamin Hitch and Mary Brown. (Rachel Hitch was born about 1782 in MD.)
