Eleven Hitch was a Private in Wear's 1st Regiment of the East Tennessee Volunteers in the War of 1812.
Eleven Hitch's will was signed on February 24, 1837 and recorded in Blount County Will Book 1, folios 67 and 68. In it, he mentions his wife Lucinda; three youngest sons Archibald, Elias and James W.; son Eleven; sons Benjamin, Wise and John; daughters Catherine Graston, and Mary, Susan and Margaret Hitch. It also notes that son Eleven is "idiotic."
