Robert G. (Bert) Hitch

Robert "Bert" Hitch age 57, of Laurel, pass away on July 2, 2022 at TidalHealth P.R.M.C. in Salisbury, Maryland. He was born on April 24, 1965 in Seaford to the late Rufus "Jimmy" Hitch and Irene Bailey Hitch. He was a former employee of Gardener Asphalt Company and CDM Product Company. Bert will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his love for the outdoors, but most of all for his love for all his family. Bert is survived by his sister, Joanne Brown; his children, Donald Hitch, Necolle Hitch, Brandy Deleon and her husband Nicholas; grandchildren, Caleb Deleon, Paytin Williams, Landon Deleon, Kendra Mann, Isaac Hitch, Cameron Hitch, Michael Deleon and Kalah Hitch; the mother of his children and his companion and friend, Angie Hitch; brother-in-law, Robin Conner and several nieces and nephews who considered him to be more than an uncle. In addition to his parents, Bert is preceded in death by his son Greg O'Neal; brothers, David Hitch, Burton Hitch, and Harry Hitch; sister, Mary Conner; brother-in-law, Wayne Brown. Bert will be greatly missed by all. A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Laurel Hill Cemetery, 9th Street, Laurel, Delaware 19956. Arrangements are in the care of the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel, Delaware.
