Elizabeth "Lib" Pusey Wooten, 73, of Snow Hill, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 10, 2012. She was born June 5, 1938 in Snow Hill, a daughter of the late Fred and Cora (Perdue) Pusey.Lib, as she was fondly known by all who loved her, graduated from Snow Hill High School with the class of 1956. On September 21, 1956 she married her sweetheart, Sid, with whom she enjoyed a wonderful and memorable 55 years of marriage. During her children's school years she worked for the Worcester County School Board before transferring to the Worcester Co. Health Department, from where she retired. She was an active member of Spence Baptist Church in Snow Hill, the church she loved with all of her heart. At Spence Baptist she enjoyed participating in the Warm Hearts Ministry, a group of church ladies that knitted prayer shawls for the sick and needy people of the community. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Worcester Chapter 102 in Snow Hill, where she served in various capacities and was Past Matron. She was an advocate for the youth of Snow Hill and always supported all of their activities. She had an appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed camping with her husband and family. Bowling was also a favorite activity. Lib will be remembered for her warm hearted smile and hugs. She lived her life for her grandchildren and family and had a special place in her heart for her grand-dogs. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Sidney R. Wooten, Sr.; her son, Ray Wooten of Snow Hill, and his son, Ryan; two daughters, Bambi Moyer of Snow Hill and her children, Kenton and Shannon Moyer and Barbara Hitch and her husband, Mike and their children, Michael and David, all of Snow Hill; a sister, Ethel Hoffman of Salisbury; and her beloved companion, her beagle "Snoopy". She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Frederick, Maurice, Richard and Roger Pusey. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Spence Baptist Church in Snow Hill, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00. The Reverend Kenneth Elligson will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Spence Baptist Church Cemetery.
