Obituary of Elmer J. Hitch from the "El Paso Journal", Dec 4, 1919.

Elmer Hitch Died in Hospital -- Elmer Hitch, died in a hospital last Thursday, November 23 from typhoid pneumonia. Funeral services were held in the Christian church Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. R. L. Beshers. The floral pieces were numerous and very beautiful. Elmer James Hitch was born near Gridley January 11, 1890 and died November 27, 1919, aged 29 years. He was married to Miss Ada Mann of Knoxville, Tenn. June 22, 1910. To this union, two sons were born, John Willis and James W. Besides his wife and two sons he leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hitch, two brothers, Edward L. of Gridley and Alfred A., and one sister, Mrs. W. D. Carver. He joined the Christian church at age 18 under the pastorate of Rev. Rufus A. Finnell.
