Harley Hitch, 98, of White Hall died Sunday, April 19, 1987, 12:40 p.m. at White Hall Hospital.

He was born June 23, 1888 in Greene County, the son of Peter and Sarah Ann (Cooksey) Hitch. He married Maudie Hudson, Aug 11, 1917, in Bowling Green, MO and she preceded him in death on March 31, 1957.

He is survived by one daughter, Ruth Hitch of White Hall. He was preceded in death by one son and one daughter, one sister, and three brothers. He attended Wilmington Baptist Church, was an army veteran of Word War I, and was a member of the White Hall American Legion Post No. 70.

He taught school in Scott and Greene County for many years and currently was serving as Democratic precinct committeeman in White Hall Precinct One. Harley Hitch

Funeral services for Harley Hitch of White Hall were held at 10 am, Wednesday, April 22, 1987 at Airsman-Hires Funeral Hall in White Hall. Rev. Ralph Helenthal officiated, and the organist was Bonnie Strowmatt. Pallbearers were: Bill Taylor, Sam Taylor, Hal Montgomery, Norb Goetten, Ben Goode, and K. E. Jackson. Burial was in White Hall cemetery.
