He first shows up in the Somerset Tax Lists for 1743 suggesting he turned age 15 sometime 1740-1743 (No lists extant for 1741 & 42). Listed as Capt. in 1750.

60 ac of CHANCE, All that tract where I now live, part of DASHIELLS LOT until it intersects a division line with Josiah Dashiell, son of Clement Dashiell. Also, Negro man Sam, woman Nell.
To son Arthur Dashiell: a part of dwelling plantation where I now live, part of DASHIELLS LOT beginning at a marked gum dividing from Luther Dashiell thence ... to intersect division with Thomas Dashiell, thence to the first bounder of a parcel given by Col. George Dashiell to Luther Dashiell; Negro woman Murreah and boy Abraham that hath always been with his mother Murreah.
To son William Dashiell: parcel bought from Isaac Dashiell, 50 ac of DASHIELLS LOT, Negro boy Paris and girl Casey.
To son Mathias Dashiell: Negro boy Tom and girl Marget.
To wife Ann Dashiell: use of one-third of all lands during her life or widowhood but not to cut any more wood than is necessary for firewood for the plantation. To bind Luther, Mathias, Arthur and William to such trades as she thinks proper.
