ANOTHER PIONEER RESIDENT PASSED AWAY THIS WEEK
Funeral of Peter Murray of Clarion Heights Was Held Yesterday Morning

In the death of Peter Murray, of Clarion Heights which occurred Monday afternoon at the Ridgway hospital, Johnsonburg loses another of its pioneer residents. Mr. Murray followed his wife to the grave by only a few weeks, she having died on Christmas day. Mr. Murray was taken to the hospital just two weeks before his death, and he had not been in good health for some time previous. Death was due to hardening of the arteries. Funeral services were held yesterday morning at nine o'clock from Holy Rosary church and interment was made in the Catholic cemetery by the side of his wife Margaret. The pall bearers were John Russell, M. W. Murphy, P. N. McCarthy, Chas. Fleming, Jas R. Brahaney and Jas. H. Cadigan. Deceased was born in Galway, Ireland and was aged about 71 years. He was married in Ireland and came to the United States with his wife about 36 years ago, living first in St. Marys for a year and then coming to Rolfe. For years he was a faithful employee of the N. Y. & Pa. Co. The surviving members of the family are seven sons and three daughters as follows: William, Mrs. Ellen Bloam, Peter, Mrs. Margaret Thompson, Thomas and Robert, all of this place; Patrick, of Pittsburgh; John J. of Panama; Mrs. Delia Carse, Beaver; Michael, of Erie; all of whom were able to get here to attend the funeral with the exception of the son living in Panama. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Matthew Haley, of Glen Hazel, and Mrs. Roger Walsh of St. Marys.
