Medical Center. He was 83 years old and lived in Hightstown, N.J. Joseph Delano Hitch, an engineer who was a former vice president of the Babcock & Wilcox Company, died of kidney failure Monday at Princeton (N.J.) Medical Center. He was 83 years old and lived in Hightstown, N.J. Mr. Hitch was vice president in charge of sales for Babcock & Wilcox, manufacturers of power generation equipment, in Barberton, Ohio, from 1961 to 1967, when he retired. He is survived by his wife, the former Katherine Dalton; three sons, Joseph 3d, of Cherry Hill, N.J., Henry, of New Canaan, Conn., and Philip of Auburndale, Mass.; two daughters, Katherine Grant of Houston and Joan Powell of Bernardsville, N.J.; a brother, John, of Denver; two sisters, Nancy Hosmer and Daisy Paul, both of Hightstown; 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
