In the June 1788 Worcester Orphan's court, it assigned Lazarus Maddus of Lazarus (age 7 on Sep 12 last), guardian George Pusey (as Pewsey) and Sophia his wife. This indicates that Sophia (Greer) (Maddux) Pusey had married George Pusey prior to Jun 1788. (WoOCP-JW15:448)
On Aug 2 1793, Sophia Pewsey (late Sophia Maddux), executrix of Lazarus Maddux, presented a 2nd accounting of his estate amounting in £140.19.52. It added debt collected from Aaron Tilghman and subtracted money paid to Levin Handy (Register of Wills), commissions allowed the accountant, which resulted in a balance of £145.9.2. She made oath (as Sophia Puzey) on Nov 23 1794. (WoAA-1792/96:106,207)
In the Aug 1802 Orphan's Court, there was a register to strike distribution of the estate of William Maddux between Lazarus, Elzey and Thomas Maddux, John Pusey and Mary his wife and George Pusey and Sophia his wife, mother of the deceased William. (WoOCP-JBR9:26)
On Nov 2 1804, Elzey Maddux, son of Lazarus, and Sophia Puzey, widow of Lazarus Maddux, sold 50a of land in the tract "Florida" to Stephen Townsend for £33 (WoLR-W:114).
