Favorite Runs (Maps)

Running....my big passion for the past four years.  I credit it with saving my life in many respects...I lost 75 pounds doing it, dropped cholesterol from 253 to 132 and got me in the best shape of my life.  Now I run and cross-train an average of 140 miles a month and run in many races from 1-milers and 5Ks to marathons.

Many runners strive for 'personal records' in races and I have mine - see the left sidebar. While these are indeed my "best times" to date, my "best runs" include the non-hurried jaunts through Cape Henlopen State Park or the greenway around the Salisbury City Park on cool, crisp mornings with snow filtering down on your brow. I hang out most with the Eastern Shore Running Club in Salisbury and the Seashore Striders in the Lewes/Rehoboth area. I race in both areas including my favorite series, the Seven Sisters of Dewey. It is a set of seven races over the summer in Dewey Beach and if you run all seven you get a boatload of prizes including tickets to the New Years Eve celebration and swanky black-tie Bartenders Ball at the Baycenter in Dewey - I have included a link to the left for more info.

Most who know me know I am a "gadget man" so running is no different. I train with a Garmin Forerunner 205 GPS 'watch' that keeps my time, position, pace, elevation, and just about everything else you can think of! I then download the data to my PC for analysis and record-keeping. I also use the MotionBased.com on-line service to map my run. Both Garmin and MotionBased links are included to the left - if you go to the latter, my user name is YAZZER and you can see over 100 runs/maps I have logged on that site.

Again, check out the links on the left...I plan to add more later as I build the new site.

ENJOY!

Mike
